Capital District Life Member status provides a unique opportunity for acknowledging Kiwanians who qualify for special recognition. Individuals who achieve Capital District Life Member status are those who perpetuate the Objects and objectives of Kiwanis International.
Recipients must hold active membership in a currently chartered Kiwanis club within the Capital District.
A club may apply for Capital District Life Member status to honor its president or any other club member.
A family or friends may apply through a club.
A division may apply to honor its lieutenant governor or past lieutenant governor.
A district may apply to honor a district officer, past or present.
An application for Capital District Life Member status by a club or an individual is subject to the approval of the club’s board of directors and must be submitted by the president or secretary of the club.
Applications must be made in the name of the individual who is to achieve Capital District Life Member status, not in the name of the office.
Each member granted Capital District Life Member status receives a personalized certificate.
The cost of Life Membership status is 15 times the amount of the annual District dues ($480) payable upon application. (Please note: This amount is subject to change in the event that district dues are increased.)
Capital District Life Member status is achieved when payment is received. Please expect certificate to arrive 1-2 weeks after receipt of payment.
Once Capital District Life Member status has been achieved, the member’s primary club will never again be required to pay Capital District dues for that member.
Capital District Life Member status has no effect on Kiwanis International dues, the Kiwanis publications fee, the Liability and D&O insurance fee or club dues.
